wearing handmade wednesday: Girl Tuesday Jewelry

a few years ago, i discovered GirlTuesdayJewelry when i came across an adorable cherry pendant made from red heart glass beads in her etsy shop.  it's still one of my favourite pieces, and that purchase made me a big fan of her jewelry.  last year for valentine's day i picked up her tough love barbed wire hearts earrings.  they're so unique, fun, and edgy, and perfect for the holiday.

towards the end of last year while browsing her shop i decided i wanted barbed wire hoops, as seen on me below.  i love the hearts, but the hoops are more versatile for my wardrobe.  i picked rachel's original hoops, 1.75" in diameter.  i also requested to have them oxidized to make them a little more raw and rugged like real barbed wire.  needless to say i LOVE them and they are the perfect accessory to toughen up any outfit.

wearing handmade wednesday: Stellar Cheri!

for those of you who know me personally, you know i'm REALLLLLLLLY into shoes.  i have a pair of vampiress shoes that are wonderfully wicked but when i wore them out i realized i did not have a bag that truly compliments them.  enter StellarCheri...  she listed some lace bags in her shop and i noticed the lace matched my shoes quite nicely.  so i asked cheri if she could make me a red wristlet.  when i received it i couldn't believe how closely they really did match, both in the red and the lace!

besides accessories, cheri makes some fabulous DIY clothing.  she's great with custom orders as i will personally attest to.  so if you need a gift this holiday season for someone who is reallllllllllllllllly into accessories, go check out her shop.  i'm sure you'll find something that will be an instant love!

wearing handmade wednesday: em & sprout!

i had my eye on these zombie kitty shoes from em & sprout forever.  a few months ago i decided it was finally time to get them.  when i bought them i asked for them to be customized with stitching only on the inside ears because i had hatched a little plan to make them truly my own.

once i received them i made the green skull bows (which match the eyes perfectly!) and attached them to each of the unstitched ears.  then i made the stitched ears a little more zombie-like with a "bite" taken out of them.  handmade + handmade = super cute!

"Well, some go this way, and some go that way. But as for me, myself, personally, I prefer the short-cut."

isn't this "cheshire hat" from SunshineMonster cute?!?  erica normally makes these in pink and purple stripes just like the colours of the cheshire cat from disney's version of "alice in wonderland", but me having to be take my short-cut...  i requested mine to be made in my beloved black and white stripes!

there are a lot of other cute and quirky hats in her shop, along with purses, some mad doorknob covers and other fun accessories.  personally, i love her bacon scarf which i featured in one of my "friday fuzzies" posts.  so go check out her shop and bring a little sunshine to your wednesday. =)

wearing handmade wednesday: ms christa!

it's almost halloween, and how perfect is this hair accessory for the holiday (and beyond, in my case!) made by the fabulous MsChrista?!  it's a black rose with skeleton hands peeking out from underneath, but she has many other colours and designs available for purchase in her shop.  christa usually makes these on combs but she also offers them on a french barrette, as i picked.  i've worn this several times since i received it and i love it!  i use it as a great alternative to wearing a ponytail - and with wicked style! =)

it's another edition of "wearing handmade wednesday", and coincidentally pili chose the same handmade shop to feature (click here for her post)!  we both love zenandcoffee's fabulous fingerless gloves!

i picked up this boot camp design of wren's to go with the military trend that is big in fall fashion this year.  i prefer mine a little shorter than her original listing so she made them custom for me.  they are well made, fit great, and i'm so happy it's getting a little cooler out so i can finally use them to accessorize my outfits! 

wren has nearly 200 designs in her etsy shop so she's got something for just about everyone.  i know i've got my eye on a couple of them.  i'm sure pili does too! =)

wearing handmade wednesday: indiscretion!

my dear friend pili has inspired me to partake in "wearing handmade wednesday"!  i have some handmade clothing items, lots of jewelry and many other accessories so i know i will have a lot to share in weeks to come.

my inaugural post is about a handmade top.  the design was inspired by a movie favourite of mine - tim burton's "alice in wonderland".  i found a downright wicked dress in mara's etsy shop, Indiscretion, which i fell in love with.  however, i don't wear dresses too often and the dress listed was not my size so i asked her if she'd make me just the top part in the same design.  she did, and i LURVE it!!! now go check out this listing because if you love it as much as i do, you can have one too! =)
